About Eric Smith

My roots for the game come from Fort Wayne where the Komets of the IHL play. They are the most successful minor league hockey program in the U.S. drawing on average of over 10,000 people. Then as I have moved to the Columbus region and the Blue Jackets opened up shop, my passion for the sport as well as the NHL grew even more. I am credentialed by the Blue Jackets and have been covering the team and continue to do so for Hockeybuzz.com since 2007. I have developed some great relationships with the team including front office, coaches and players. I continue to drive to give the Blue Jacket fanbase an inside view that is critical but fair.

St. Louis Anything But Blue

feature photo

This week on the “Fire The Cannon” podcast, we continue with our Central Division review with the St. Louis Blues. The Blues had an impressive close to the season last year as they pushed their way into the playoffs. The injury bug set up shop in St. Louis last year and wouldn’t leave which made their entry into the playoffs even that more impressive.

Our special guest for this week will be Andy Strickland, radio host in St. Louis as well as writer for HockeyBuzz.com. May be the most connected person to the Blues that isn’t on the payroll. Strickland is a nationally respected hockey writer and broadcaster that is not only connected to the Blues but also the entire NHL.

We will also be covering the recently released Traverse City Prospect Tourney roster and schedule, Doug Maclean mouth is open again and much more. Be sure to tune in, call in or send in your questions for Andy Strickland or myself.
