Tonights game (12/19 Avs vs CBJ) was absolutely disgraceful.

After watching the way the team has performed over the past several games it is clear, that a change is necessary.

So which will it be:

Will they axe Mason, our start goalie that let 4 shots by in 8 minutes?
Will the defensive line be revamped?
Will the fearless leader, rick Nash, have his "C" stripped from his jersey?
Or will Hitchcock be replaced?

Something has to be done.

Raffi Torres has been activated and is expected to return to the lineup tonight. Expect a limited role while he eases back in from the time off. Still no word on Pahlsson who is listed as day-to-day.

Where is the best place to get authentic Reebok Edge Columbus Blue Jackets hockey jerseys? Almost $400 with names and numbers wow...thats high... I would like to buy both a home and away jersey...

Is it just me or does the blue on the home jerseys seem darker this year than the ones for sale on theNHL team shops web site? Looks more like a navy blue then nhl shop's site...

So, with Thursday's paper saying on the front cover "Saving the Jackets" What idea's do you Jackets fans have to help keep this team here where we will not lose them to Kansas City, Hartford, or Quebec city?

Seems to me like approval of the casinos has dropped the solution to the Jackets losses right in our lap. There are several proposals on the table to fix the problem. Many of these are DOA. Mayor Coleman has said no money from the city general fund, 2 of the county commissioners say no unless there is a vote (reports indicate time is to short for a vote). Other options include fees on rental cars and hotels (new taxes not likely). The ball swings to the state for funding. The capital bill for this budget biennium is long gone; The next budget will come during a tough time for the state as stimulus funds dry up. Finding new state revenue will be tough. Most of the proposals laid out in the consultant report are just not realistic including an NBA franchise. The solution IMHO is to put the state legislature that created this mess in the first place by funding the Shottenstein Center on the spot. The Casino wants to be a good neighbor, well I say put your money where your mouth is. Let's earmark some of the generated tax dollars from the Casino to buy bonds to buy the Arena from Nationwide. Some may disagree but to me this is the only source of new funds available and both tenants have a mutual interest in seeing the other succeed. Nationwide should step forward and broker this deal through the legislature in order to protect their investment in the Arena district. Of course politicians won't like this solution since they're already behind closed doors trying to figure out where this new revenue will be spent. Just my .02

I heard a friend of mine say all we have is the only chant "lets go jackets" and he came up with an Idea that could work if people worked together. 1 section starts with "BLUE!" and then the Next Section responds with "JACKETS!" What do you think and any other ideas for chants to do. Shocked

The Blue Jackets announced this afternoon that defenseman Mike Commodore has been activated off of injured reserve.

This appears to be more of a precautionary move with one of the Jackets defensemen showing flu symptoms. While there has been nothing said by Coach Hitchcock to suggest Commodore will be in the lineup tonight, there is a good chance he will make his season debut during this road trip.

Thoughts?
