Defensemen Tollefsen not offered a contract

Hard hitting defensemen Ole-Kristian Tollefsen  who was a restricted free agent, was not tendered a contract from the Blue Jackets today. This will make the 25 year old defensemen from Norway an unrestricted free agent.  Tollefsen was a 3rd round draft choice by the Jackets in 2002 (65th overall) and made his Blue Jackets debut in the 2005-2006 season. Ole-Kristian went on to play 145  games for the Jackets, while compiling a mere 10 points during his tenure. More impressive were the 273 penatly minutes he took while suiting up for the Blue Jackets. Ole is still young and has good size (6’2″ & 211lbs). He should be able to catch on with another team looking to add some grit. Perhaps the Leafs as GM Burke has stated he is looking to get tougher.

Here are a couple of Toffefsen’s scraps

Hopefully this kid is able to catch on with another NHL franchise.
