Blue Jackets take on the Canucks

The Columbus Blue Jackets will look to continue their hot play on Friday when they remain at Nationwide Arena to host the Vancouver Canucks. Vancouver is 35-21-2 overall, and have out scored opponents 185-143 on the season. The Canucks currently hold the third seed in the Western Conference postseason, as they lead the Northwest Division. The division is tight, with Colorado just a point behind them, and Calgary just five points behind.

The Canucks are led in scoring by Henrik Sedin, who has the most goals scored and assists made on the team. Sedin has netted 25 goals, which is tied with left winger Alex Burrows. Sedin leads in assists with 53, in 58 games played. Vancouver’s leading goaltender is Roberto Luongo, who has played in 50 games on the season. Luongo is 30-16-2, with a 2.33 GAA.

Columbus will look to improve on their 15-9-5 home record. The Blue Jackets have won six of their last ten, but are still being out scored 194 – 159 on the season. Steve Mason has been the top goaltender for the Blue Jackets. Mason is 15-18 with a 3.14 GAA. Rick Nash continue to push along as the team leader in goals (25) and assists (29).

The game for the Blue Jackets will be the fourth of five straight home games. Columbus will host the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday afternoon.
