The Union Blue were in the Gateway City last night to take on divisional foes the St. Louis Blues. The CBJ have not faired well in St. Louis over the past few seasons, 0-7-1 in their past eight outings heading into last night. At points last night it appeared the Jackets were set extend that not so illustrious streak, but Kris Russell and Mathieu Garon had other plans.

My name is Bart Logan. I am a Columbus native and journalism major at Ohio University. My love for the game of hockey dates back to my days as a youngster watching the Columbus Chill play at the Ohio State Fairgrounds Coliseum. I've been hooked ever since. I have previously held press credentials and covered the Blue Jackets for WVKO 1580 AM in 2008. In addition to the covering the Blue Jackets, I also work as a play-by-play announcer for the Ohio University Bobcats Hockey Team.
An Argument for Hitchcock
Last season Ken Hitchcock led the Columbus Blue Jackets to the franchise’s first ever playoff appearance. The appearance, albeit a short one, was supposed to signal this teams step toward becoming a consistent competitive team. This season was supposed to be the next step. To the 2009-2010 season, already two games past the halfway mark, [...]

With the end of 2009 in sight, a year of historic highs and lows for the Blue Jackets is coming to a close. Certainly the thrill of the club’s first playoff appearance, albeit a short one last Spring, led to a season of unbridled optimism in 2009-2010. However, the latter half of 2009 has not [...]

The Blue Jackets franchise worst nine-game losing streak has finally come to an end! It’s a phrase that dominated post game conversations for the better part of eight seasons in Columbus, one that I’ve tried to refrain from as long as possible: “Same old Jackets.” But yet, after another gut-wrenching loss, it has forced its way back into common vernacular. The Jackets fell to the Minnesota Wild last night [...]
